Istanbul is mindblowing - from state of the art sky scrapers to ramshakle places like this. The tin has been nailed over the original wooden cladding - perhaps when it started rotting. It's a technique I've seen oftern, but the colour of the rust isn't captured at all on this picture, nor the chickens in the yard or the truck that has seen better days.

Looks like it was once a lovely building.
Interesting old building. Not at all what I imagine when I think of Istanbul so this is an eye opener.
