Sadly this type of house is seen a lot in Istanbul, it's a very traditional style. Many have fallen from grace and will in time be demolished. In some areas they are restored, or re-built using modern techniques. This one however I suspect will tumble down over time and be replaced by a modern 4 storey apartment building. Economics. I adore this Ottoman style. The pink house in an earlier Wordless Wednesday post is on the same street.
That old house has so much more character than those 4-story monstrosities they build everywhere. I like how the vegetable stall just sort of springs naturally out of the side.

Interesting old house. Is it being restored?
I think I have seen this kind of house on one of the streets in Istanbul too. Happy WW! :)
